Webcam Black Screen

If your camera feed shows a black screen, try these fixes.

1. Re-allow camera access

You may have blocked the camera earlier. See our camera permissions guide to allow access again, then refresh.

2. Camera in use elsewhere

Another tab, app (Zoom, Teams, etc.), or virtual camera may be using your webcam. Close them and refresh the photo booth page.

3. Test your camera

Open your system camera app (e.g. Photo Booth on Mac, Camera on Windows) to confirm the camera works. If it doesn't work there, fix the hardware or drivers first.

4. Try another browser

Sometimes one browser has issues with a specific camera. Try Chrome, Edge, Safari, or Firefox. Also ensure you're on the latest version.
